The artistry of summer is graced by blooming flowers,
Their colors and aromas have intoxicating powers.
A warm breeze carries the perfume in the air
Of roses, honeysuckle and others here and there.
The morning glories open with the rising of the sun
And four-o'clocks indicate when day is almost done.
From the morning when flowers are wet with dew
Until the evening darkness, they provide a lovely view.
Hollyhocks, geraniums and hydrangeas too
Create a masterpiece of pink, red and blue,
While sunflowers, daisies and marigolds grow
With a bright golden touch to add to the show.
What delight flowers offer on a warm summer day,
As petunias, phlox and zinnias brighten up our way;
The colorful display of the Master gardener's art
Brings delight to the senses and gladdens the heart!

A time for rest should be found each day
To be refreshed and restored,
To relax, reflect, meditate and pray,
To spend precious time with the Lord.
Taking a break from work for a while
To enjoy some moments of rest
Can help you face the day with a smile,
Ready to do your best.
Rest is good for the body and soul,
A time to relax and let go,
To understand God is in control
And a peaceful contentment to know.

Any day can be much brighter,
Any night seem not so long
When the heart is filled with music
And the living with a song.
Any task seems not so dreary,
Any right must conquer wrong
When the melody of loving
Is the soul's resounding song.
Any heart can beat more gladly,
Any weakness be made strong
When the Lord provides the music
And the beauty of life's song.

A taste of heaven can often be found
Right here with us on earth
By catching a glimpse of God's majesty
And beauty of infinite worth.
God's presence, reigning over creation,
Is with us wherever we go,
Before our eyes and surrounding us
When our hearts are open to know.
So greet each new day expectantly
With an open heart and mind,
Then God's glory, power, love and grace
Are there waiting for you to find.

The gentle rhythm of the rain
On the roof above my head,
Spattering on the window pane
As I lie resting on my bed,
Soothes me with its steady beat,
So melodic, soft and sweet.
Like the earth, nourished by the rain,
Water for the thirsty sod,
My soul can find relief from pain
And nourishment it needs from God,
As the rain falls with a steady beat,
I'm filled with God's love, so peaceful and sweet.

I want to have this,
I need to have that,
I always desire to have more;
I want something bigger,
Something that’s better
Than I’ve ever had before.
So we can be happy
And be more carefree,
We’re convinced we need more things;
The more we possess
Will lessen our stress
With the satisfaction it brings.
Instead of trying
To always be buying
More things than we can afford,
Enjoy the great value
That waits for you
In free gifts that come from the Lord.
Nothing we buy
Can quite satisfy
The deep longing of our hearts
Like the peace and love
That come from above,
The wealth that God freely imparts.

To those you meet along your way
Offer a smile to brighten their day,
Take a moment to say hello,
A bit of kindness and love to show.
When you take time to show you care
With a friendly greeting that you share,
It can give others' spirits a lift
Although it is a simple gift.
The offering of a cheerful smile
Can help make life seem more worthwhile,
And as God smiles in love today,
Blessings will surely come your way!

Why do we worry and why do we fret
Over things that haven't happened yet?
Why expect trouble to come in your day
When chances are it won't happen that way?

It's better to start the day with prayer,
Trusting each day to God's loving care,
Giving thanks to God for gifts that are free,
Lovingly offered to you and to me.

So instead of worrying, filled with dread,
Always expect the best instead,
Let the bright promise of hope shine through
And accept the blessings God gives to you!

Beauty may be discovered each day
On the earth, in the sky and sea.
God's handiwork is on display
Wherever we happen to be.
From dawn's early light and into the night,
Whenever we look around,
In golden sunshine or the moon's soft light
Glimpses of beauty are found.
Open your heart as you open your eyes
To experience life's best things.
You may find inside a pleasant surprise
In the peace, joy and beauty God brings!

Sing a song at the close of the day
Before the fading of light
To soothe the soul in a peaceful way
And prepare for a restful night.
After a day of toil and care
As all activities cease,
Sing a simple, quiet prayer,
A song of hope and peace.
Sing of the longing that you feel
For an end to stress and strife,
And let a calmness across you steal
As you sing of the good things in life.
Music has a certain power
To cause special feelings to start,
Like the scent and beauty of a flower
Making joy pulse and flow from the heart.
A sweet song helps nerves to be stilled
As from the day's cares you retreat,
Then the night with music will be filled
And your dreams will be lovely and sweet.
